Abstract
This work is based on research study written by Yangzi Sima and Peter C. Pugsley called The Rise of A “Me Culture“ in Postsocialist China: Youth, Individualism and Identity Creation in the Blogosphere. The study was published in April 2010 in the journal International Communication Gazette. The authors´ aim is to find out how the Chinese Generation Y uses its personal blogs for self-presentation. In this respect, individualism and consumerism are the often mentioned terms in contrast with the collective values of the previous generation. The primary objective of this paper is to summarize the above mentioned study and to compare its conclusions with the Czech blogosphere practice.
