Swedish politicians and new media: Democracy, identity and populism in digital discourse

Abstract

The seminar work relates to study, what new media and communication technology can make with democracy and freedom of speech. If they can it consolidate or the other way around.

The study written by Bo Nilsson and Eric Carlsson wants to show the relate between politics and new and social media. Using interviews they look the identity of politics and their using digital information and communication technology for. The study brings positive as well as negative views of impact this using for democracy and its form.

Abstrakt

Vybraná studie autorů Bo Nilssona a Erica Carlssona Swedish politicians and new media: Democracy, identity and populism in digital discourse přibližuje vztah politků a nových médií. Během rozhovorů s politickými aktéry je řešena otázka demokratizačního potenciálu sociálních a nových médií na jedné straně a naopak jejich demokratizační hrozby an straně druhé. Cílem studie je identifikovat a následně analyzovat vztah politiků a digitálních informačních technologií.
